Arts Award supports and inspires children and young people to grow their arts and leadership talents.  It is the only non-school based arts qualification currently available in the UK and is supported by Trinity College London and Arts Council England.
The Arts Award project at Gallery Oldham is designed to help pupils aged 11 and over to achieve their Bronze Arts Award.

Supported by a lead artist and Gallery Oldham staff students will complete an entrepreneurial challenge and become designers, makers and crafts people creating items to be sold in the gallery shop.

Across the five weeks students will be supported to design and make their own items including printed bags, sketchbooks and greetings cards which they will price, market and advertise their products all whilst completing their Bronze Arts Award.

Through Arts Award, children and young people can take an inspiring arts journey that earns them a qualification for something they enjoy doing, lets them experience the professional arts world and share their passion with friends. Bronze Arts Award is a level 1 qualification on the QCF (qualifications and credit framework) with a credit value of 6.

Each pupil will learn new skills, explore new materials, create multiple art works, explore the galleries vast collections of social history, natural history and art, work as team and develop their confidence and communication skills all whilst achieving their Bronze Arts Award.
