The Education Programme provides services to both the Primary and Secondary sector with a fully qualified team of expert coaches who have reached Olympic, Commonwealth, World, European and British status and gained medals, within their chosen field. We deliver enrichment programmes for Pre and After School Clubs alongside many other services including intervention workshops for children with special needs, behavioural or social requirements. These interventions can be adapted to suit your pupil’s needs and delivered within the curriculum day or the Pre or After School format. We pride ourselves on working within a flexible structure to fit your school’s needs, development plans and timetable. Through our child cantered approach which includes inclusive language, key life skills and active reinforcement we are able to create sustainable outcomes for all students and build a trust foundation with them. Our mission statement is to develop the whole child and is paramount to our core ethos and values. Young people are the future, it is our aim to ensure the children, schools and families with whom we work are enhanced academically, physically, socially and culturally. This drives our guiding principles around which all of our clubs, activities and intervention programmes are designed and delivered. This was reinforced in November 2017 when Ofsted observed our unique “Little Dragons, Martial Arts Around The World Club” In there official report it stated “All pupils have training in Martial Arts, which is very effectively used as a vehicle to learn about Other Cultures, Tolerance and British Values”
Price per child per hour is only £1.83 ( Great Value)
Testimonial for the Education Programme’s ‘Little Dragons’ Project
The Education Programme have worked at St Theresa’s since February 2017 and within the wider federation at Corpus Christi since November 2013.
As Executive Head teacher I have found Richard Kirkham and his colleagues to be extremely professional and skilled when working with the children and staff at both schools.
The Martial Arts has had a positive impact on all of the children at both schools. We have been witness to a wholesale development of pupil resilience and sense of responsibility which has in turn helped to raise standards across the school.
The Little Dragons project is well embedded with the timetabled curriculum which enables all children from Nursery to Year Six to work through a series of grades linking directly to the SMSC offer at both schools.
The Little Dragons has helped the vast majority of children to develop in confidence through the strong, effective relationships developed with Richard and his instructors along with being able to enhance their leadership skills.
During a recent Ofsted inspection, the Little Dragons project was praised for developing the children socially and emotionally and for enhancing pupil understanding of British Values in all year groups.
I have no hesitation when recommending the Education Programme’s ‘Little Dragons’ project and feel sure the same impact will be achieved in all schools.
Richard Kirkham and the Education Programme Ltd delivered an exciting and engaging martial arts day to the children in our Summer school and those participating in our transition week. The children ranged from 5 - 15 and all thoroughly enjoyed the activities and were introduced to a wide range of martial arts and the cultural aspects surrounding these.
We found Richard and to be very professional ensuring everyone remained safe whilst having fun and learning new skills, his approach was both engaging and active, encouraging and motivating the children throughout most of whom were new to the activities, some of the children have since expressed an interest in taking up martial arts outside of school.
Young persons views:
This sounds like a really enjoyable activity for all young people, and meets the pledges and the essential life skills well, particularly around keeping healthy and fit and learning self-discipline. The chance to meet famous sports stars is an added bonus to what sounds like amazing day activities. These would be good opportunities in raising young people’s aspirations and show that with dedication and persistence anything is achievable.
